Penn Street House was full of festive cheer as residents came together for a joyful Christmas party on 9 December. With colourful Christmas jumpers on display, the room was buzzing with Christmas spirit.
The party was organised by Penn Street House staff, with support from ISHA’s Neighbourhood Events Fund helping to make the celebration possible. The afternoon was lively, welcoming, and full of laughter, with residents enjoying festive food, music, Christmas crackers, and games throughout the event.
The local vicar joined the celebrations, leading residents in singing Christmas carols and filling the room with well-loved festive favourites. FDH, one of ISHA’s contractors, also attended and fully joined in the fun, taking part in the carolling and games. They also generously provided Christmas gift baskets for residents, which were received with big smiles and warm thanks.

Beyond the festivities, the event gave residents, staff, and the ISHA team the chance to spend time together, enjoy good conversation, and strengthen connections. The success of the party even sparked conversations about future ideas, including hopes for a summer barbecue that could once again be supported through the Neighbourhood Events Fund.
Events like the Penn Street Christmas party show the impact of neighbourhood funding in creating opportunities for residents to come together and feel part of a shared community.
